Two separate ATM robbery attempts in Nizamabad district of Telangana resulted in cash worth approximately Rs 50 lakh being destroyed by fire on Saturday, December 27. The incidents occurred within different police jurisdictions in the town, leaving authorities investigating the brazen attacks.

In the first incident, two culprits arrived on a motorcycle and targeted an ATM under the jurisdiction of Nizamabad Town 5 Police Station. The perpetrators vandalized the machine which contained Rs 27 lakh in cash at the time of the attack. Details about the extent of damage and whether the culprits managed to access the cash remain under investigation.

The second incident took place at an ATM under the jurisdiction of Nizamabad Town 4 Police Station. In this case, the criminals attempted to break open the ATM but failed in their efforts. Unable to access the cash inside, the perpetrators set the ATM on fire before fleeing the scene. The machine reportedly contained Rs 25 lakh in cash when it was set ablaze.

The burning of such a substantial amount of currency has raised serious concerns about the security measures in place at ATM locations across the district. Local police have launched investigations into both incidents to identify and apprehend the culprits responsible for these attacks.

Authorities are examining CCTV footage from the ATM locations and surrounding areas to gather evidence and track down the suspects. The use of a motorcycle in at least one of the incidents suggests the perpetrators planned their escape route carefully.

Bank officials have been informed about both incidents, and forensic teams have been deployed to collect evidence from the crime scenes. The police are working to determine whether the same group was responsible for both attacks or if they were carried out by different individuals.
