Hyderabad Police have launched a strict campaign against drunk driving as the city gears up for New Year 2026 celebrations. VC Sajjanar, a senior police official, issued a direct warning to citizens through social media, emphasizing zero tolerance for those who drink and drive.

In his characteristic style, Sajjanar advised residents, “Miyaa, drink kiya Toh steering ko salaam bolke cab pakdo. Google ‘cab’, not ‘lawyer’.” The message clearly conveyed that anyone who consumes alcohol should avoid driving and instead opt for cab services.

The police official made it clear that taking a cab is far more economical than facing legal consequences. “Cab is cheaper than challan aur jail term, miyaa. Celebrate responsibly, warna action guaranteed,” Sajjanar warned in his social media post.
