Hyderabad, December 26, 2025 — Telangana is positioning itself as a major destination for Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, and humanoid technology, with the State government actively promoting investments and innovation in advanced automation.
The State has begun establishing itself as a future-ready technology hub where AI-based robots, humanoids, and automation systems will play a central role across industries including manufacturing, healthcare, defence, and public services.
Hyderabad, already recognized for IT and pharmaceutical leadership, is witnessing growing interest in robotics research, humanoid development, and AI-driven solutions. The rapid adoption of AI-powered systems is reshaping global industries, and Telangana aims to be at the forefront of this transformation.
Robots equipped with AI are no longer confined to factories. They are now being designed to assist humans in workplaces, perform precision-based medical procedures, support defence and surveillance operations, handle repetitive and dangerous tasks, and improve efficiency in logistics and public infrastructure.
A major focus is on humanoid robots—machines designed to resemble and interact like humans. These robots are being developed to understand human emotions and behaviour, respond using natural language, and perform tasks requiring human-like judgement.
Telangana is seeing growing activity in this space, with startups and technology firms exploring human-like robots for customer service, healthcare assistance, elderly care, and education.
Significant investments running into hundreds of crores of rupees are being planned for AI and robotics-related projects in Telangana. Establishing research centres, testing facilities, and manufacturing units for advanced robots is expected to require ₹500 crore or more in phased investments.
Government-backed technology parks and innovation zones are likely to host robotics R&D labs, AI training and testing centres, and hardware manufacturing and assembly units.
Officials and experts believe the rise of AI and robotics will create new types of employment. Demand is expected to grow for AI engineers, robotics designers, data scientists, automation specialists, and cybersecurity and ethics experts.
Educational institutions in Telangana are being encouraged to align curricula with AI, machine learning, and robotics, ensuring students are industry-ready.
Telangana holds several advantages in becoming a robotics and AI hub, including a strong IT ecosystem in Hyderabad, presence of global tech companies, government support for emerging technologies, startup-friendly policies, and access to skilled talent.
Experts caution that ethical use of AI must be ensured, cybersecurity risks need strict regulation, workforce reskilling is essential, and clear legal frameworks for AI usage must be developed.
