During a detailed review meeting with newly appointed Zonal Commissioners, the CM outlined a series of directives aimed at systematic development of the city’s core urban areas.

The government has decided to develop the Core Urban Region within the Outer Ring Road in a planned and systematic manner. This initiative aligns with the state’s long-term vision document, “Telangana Rising 2047”, which aims to ensure sustainable and organized growth.

Under the CURE framework, Hyderabad has been reorganized into 12 zones, 60 circles, and 300 wards. This restructuring is designed to strengthen governance mechanisms and improve administrative efficiency across the city.

Addressing one of the city’s most pressing challenges, CM Revanth Reddy emphasized that solid waste management requires immediate attention. He announced a complete ban on plastic in the city and directed that zone-wise problem-solving would be the direct responsibility of Zonal Commissioners, who must maintain daily field presence.

The Chief Minister outlined several environmental protection measures, including safeguarding lakes and nalas from encroachments. As part of comprehensive pollution control, diesel buses and autos in the CURE area will be replaced with EV vehicles.

To ensure accountability, CCTV cameras will be installed near lakes, nalas, and garbage dumping areas. The CM directed that special sanitation drives be conducted for three days every month, with strict monitoring to ensure no visible garbage or potholes remain on city roads.

Regular communication with Colony Welfare Associations and Apartment Associations was also stressed.

The Chief Minister directed HYDRA, GHMC, and the Water Works Department to begin desilting works of nalas from January. Adequate street lighting across the city and coordination of departments in the CURE area under the Special Chief Secretary were also mandated.

Additional measures include proactive steps to prevent mosquito breeding and communicable diseases, garbage clearance drives once every ten days, and swift responses through toll-free numbers to address public issues. Officials were instructed to prepare a five-year action plan for the city’s development.

The Chief Minister concluded that only collective and coordinated efforts can secure a better future for Hyderabad.
