Warangal:
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy declared that as long as the Congress party remains in power in Telangana, it will continue to focus on the welfare of the poor and the empowerment of women. He promised that the Congress would show what “Indiramma Rajyam” truly means, despite challenges and “conspiracies” from the BRS and the BJP.
Reddy pointed out that during its ten-year rule, the BRS did not give enough representation to women, not even in its cabinet. In contrast, the one-year-old Congress government has not only included women in its cabinet but also given them important responsibilities. For example, the recent Warangal meeting was entirely organized by women.
The Chief Minister praised two female ministers, Seethakka and Konda Surekha, for their excellent work in holding key departments. He emphasized that the Congress party believes in the abilities of women. He also expressed pride that the Warangal MP, Kavya, though young, has been actively raising issues from her constituency in Parliament. Even the Chief Secretary of the state is a woman, which, according to him, reflects the government’s trust in women leadership.
Revanth Reddy said he was deeply grateful to the women of Telangana for supporting him in becoming the TPCC chief and, later, the Chief Minister. He attributed Congress’ victory in the state to their backing and explained that the government now has a responsibility to work towards their upliftment and empowerment.
Addressing recent comments made by KCR, the former Chief Minister, Revanth agreed that the people of Telangana have realized what they had lost. However, he said the only jobs lost were those held by KCR and his family, while the state as a whole had gained. The Chief Minister also warned opposition leaders that they would face legal action if they continued to plot against the government, accusing them of trying to create problems over the past year.
