The Delhi Capitals women’s team has made it to the final of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) for the first time, and their success has inspired and motivated the men’s team, according to head coach Ricky Ponting. The Delhi franchise, led by Australian Meg Lanning, won six out of eight league games to finish on top of the table and secure a direct entry to the final. The team’s success has impressed Ponting, who said that the men’s team would be sending videos to the women’s team to wish them luck in the final against Mumbai Indians. The Delhi Capitals men’s team will begin their IPL 2023 campaign on April 1 against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium.
