Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh has instructed agriculture officials to make sure that quality seeds and fertilizers are readily available to farmers during the Kharif season.
On Thursday, the Collector conducted a meeting at the IDOC Conference Hall to review the agricultural situation in the district.
He confirmed that fertilizers like urea, DAP, and potash are well-stocked. The agriculture department must ensure these fertilizers reach farmers without delay. Farmers are encouraged to get their supplies through Agriculture Rythu Seva Kendras (Agri-RSKs) and Primary Cooperative Societies.
The Collector emphasized that seed companies must guarantee in writing to buy all seeds produced by farmers. He urged officials to secure these commitments from companies quickly.
Agriculture officers were also told to stay available for farmers, providing timely advice and assistance.
The meeting included Additional Collector Narsinga Rao, District Agriculture Officer Sakriya Naik, ADA Sangeetha Lakshmi, Cooperative Officer Srinivasulu, and various Mandal-level Agriculture Extension Officers (AEOs).
