B. M. Santosh, the District Collector, made an unexpected visit to Dharmavaram village in Erravalli mandal on Tuesday. He inspected the Government Backward Classes Boys Hostel and the Zilla Parishad High School.
During the inspection, Santosh checked the hostel’s facilities, including the kitchen and storerooms. He noticed the damaged ceilings in the hostel rooms and asked the authorities to temporarily relocate the students to the school premises until repairs are done. He also ordered the engineering department to evaluate the building and quickly provide a report on necessary renovations.
Santosh emphasized the government’s dedication to providing quality education, nutritious meals, and safe housing for students. He urged for speedy completion of repairs to avoid student inconvenience.
He also assessed the food provided at the hostel. Santosh instructed the warden to be present daily, address students’ needs, and ensure adherence to the nutritious menu. He also stressed the importance of providing clean drinking water, particularly during the rainy season.
Moreover, Santosh encouraged teachers to focus on the educational growth of students and support them in achieving success across various areas.
BC Welfare Officer Nishita, School Principal Lakshmi Reddy, Warden Jayaramulu, and other officials joined Santosh during the inspection.
