Hyderabad is buzzing with vibrant Ganesh idols in colors like yellow, blue, red, green, and gold as Ganesh Chaturthi nears. Skilled artisans are tirelessly crafting unique designs, blending traditional elements with fresh artistic touches.
A standout this year is a massive fifteen-foot Ganesh idol for 2025, priced at Rs 95,000. It features detailed depictions of Lord Vishnu’s avatars in striking colors. The creation took 15 days and involved 10 liters of paint, 25 bags of POP (each 25 kg), a bamboo and steel base, and 5 liters of adhesive.
Jaswan Singh, the owner, shared that it required a team of ten people 14 days to sculpt the idol, and another day for finishing touches. “We aimed to make something exceptional this year,” he said. Besides the 15-foot piece, artisans crafted other idols in sizes like 12 feet, 14 feet, 11 feet, and 10 feet, each with distinct designs. Around 20 workers have participated in this season’s idol-making.
Workshops now resemble art galleries, displaying a range of sizes and styles. The 2025 idols combine traditional and mythological themes, demonstrating devotion and creativity. Artisans hope these colorful creations will brighten pandals and homes throughout Telangana and improve their financial situation after challenging years.
