Hyderabad: The Congress party has accused the BJP of trying to create division in Hyderabad ahead of the upcoming local body MLC elections.
Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Congress MLC Balmoor Venkat claimed that BJP leaders, including Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and MP Eatala Rajender, were making provocative statements for political gain. He said their comments were aimed at stirring up religious tensions in the city.
Venkat criticized the BJP for using inflammatory language in what he described as a peaceful city. He said Kishan Reddy, who he claimed has failed to secure funds from the Centre, was now trying to distract people with controversial remarks. He also accused Bandi Sanjay and Eatala Rajender of similar actions.
Venkat urged BC and SC voters not to support the BJP in the upcoming elections. He pointed out that Congress is not contesting the MLC elections due to a lack of strength. He added that the elections are only for public representatives and ex-officio voters who were elected on party symbols, questioning why BJP is participating despite lacking the necessary backing.
