Hyderabad: The conflict between Minister Konda Surekha and several MLAs from the former Warangal district is escalating. AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan plans to meet with district leaders on Sunday to address this issue.
Meenakshi Natarajan will arrive in the city on Sunday. Her visit includes meetings at Gandhi Bhavan to discuss various local issues. A central topic will be the growing tension between two significant factions in Warangal.
The situation worsened after Konda Murali, Minister Konda Surekha’s husband, made controversial comments. On June 19, during a speech for Rahul Gandhi's birthday, Murali criticized Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari and Parkal Legislator R Prakash Reddy, accusing them and others of betraying their previous parties.
In response, the MLAs, along with district president Naini Rajender Reddy, held meetings and personally complained to PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Friday.
Tensions rose further when it was announced that the couple’s daughter will run for election in Parkal, the constituency currently held by Prakash Reddy. The state leadership is seriously considering the implications of Konda Murali’s statements against party MLAs in Warangal. Meenakshi Natarajan is actively investigating these developments.
