Hyderabad:
The PCC President, B Mahesh Kumar Goud, has raised questions against the BRS party’s recent statements. He pointed out that the BRS had included the rejuvenation of the Musi River in its manifesto when it was in power. Now, as part of the opposition, the BRS seems to be against the same idea that it had once supported.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan, Mahesh Kumar reminded everyone of how former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) strongly promoted the idea of reviving the Musi River. He noted that this plan was even part of the BRS party’s official promises. He also mentioned that people living near the Musi River are at constant risk of flooding, and several lives have been lost in the past due to such floods.
The Congress leader went on to question if the BRS is truly interested in the city’s development. He claimed that most of the development over the past decade has only benefited the areas around the farmhouses belonging to KCR’s relatives, including KTR, Harish Rao, and Kavitha. He also criticized the BRS for not properly rehabilitating families displaced by the Mallanna Sagar project, saying that the Congress handled rehabilitation more responsibly by following proper guidelines.
