Hyderabad: The announcement of local body elections has prompted the Congress to focus on their positive achievements, especially in development and welfare programs for farmers and rural communities. Although the BRS has highlighted issues like urea shortages during the Kharif season, the national party claims the problem is mostly resolved.

Key initiatives like the farm loan waiver, Rythu Bharosa, paddy bonuses, and Bhu Bharati—which replaced the controversial Dharani—are being used to showcase the effective governance under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The goal is to gain support from rural voters.

In a recent meeting, the Extended Executive Committee emphasized promoting the achievements of CM Reddy’s 22-month leadership. They aim to widely publicize successful schemes such as the distribution of fine rice, issuing of ration cards, Indiramma housing, and the supply of fertilizers, reaching out to villagers directly.

The Congress government has distributed over 60,000 ration cards in Hyderabad alone. For the Indiramma housing scheme, they are rapidly constructing 3,500 houses in each constituency and ensuring timely payment of bills.
