The Congress party in Hyderabad has accused top leaders of the BRS and BJP of violating the Model Code of Conduct after casting their votes. They have urged the Election Commission to declare their votes void. In a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer, PCC senior vice president G Niranjan claimed that Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, former minister Eatala Rajender, and former minister K T Rama Rao had all broken the rules.

According to Niranjan, the Election Commission rules state that no one should make comments at polling stations to influence voters after they have voted. Making such comments can result in legal action and the invalidation of the vote. Niranjan alleged that Kishan Reddy, Etela Rajender, and KTR violated these rules on Monday. Complaints were filed with the ECI and CEO Telangana, requesting action be taken and KTR’s vote be declared void.

Niranjan revealed that Kishan Reddy mentioned his vote for a particular party and leader to the media, which goes against the Election Code and voting secrecy. He called on the Election Commission to invalidate his vote. Niranjan also criticized State BJP president Kishan Reddy for mentioning Narendra Modi’s name after voting, trying to influence voters. Similarly, he accused Malkajgiri BJP candidate Etela Rajender of trying to sway voters by referring to ‘Phir Ek Bar Modi Sarkar’ during media interactions.
