The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has said that they will not join the Congress-led opposition unless the Congress voices its opposition to the Delhi Ordinance in Parliament. The party’s national spokesperson, Priyanka Kakkar, also stated that Congress should not project Rahul Gandhi as the leader for a third time. This has led to the party proposing a new criterion for any potential alliance.

During a recent meeting of opposition parties in Patna, AAP leaders such as Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann attended but left before a joint statement was made. The AAP has released a statement saying that any alliance with the Congress will be hard if they don’t back them on the Delhi Ordinance issue.

During the meeting, Kejriwal spoke directly with Rahul Gandhi and asked him to put aside their disagreements and move forward. However, sources say that Mallikarjun Kharge refuted the AAP’s allegations and claimed that AAP spokespeople had been making derogatory remarks about the Congress.

Priyanka Kakkar has intensified her criticism, asserting that Rahul Gandhi and the BJP have established an understanding in which the Congress would back the Delhi Ordinance. In response, the AAP leader tweeted in Hindi that saving the country is more important than saving the Constitution, and that the Congress should not bet on Rahul Gandhi for a third time.
