Hyderabad: The Congress has suspended Ravi Srinivas, a leader from Komaram Bheem Asifabad and in charge of the Sirpur (T) Assembly constituency, for six years. The party’s Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) made this decision over allegations of anti-party actions.

Mallu Ravi led the DAC meeting in the city on Sunday. Srinivas was accused of criticizing Minister Seethakka, in charge of Panchayati Raj and Adilabad, during a press conference earlier this year. Additionally, he allegedly opposed the party’s official candidate in the recent MLC elections.

Srinivas was reportedly displeased with the Congress prioritizing former BRS leader and MLC Dande Vittal. He also allegedly criticized the District Congress Committee leadership, which drew harsh reactions from senior party members. G Chinna Reddy, the former Chairman of the Disciplinary Action Committee, issued a show-cause notice to him, demanding an explanation.
