Hyderabad: The Congress party in Telangana is working to improve its social media efforts. The goal is to promote government schemes and counter the opposition’s claims. The ruling party wants to share its achievements and reach more people in the state.

The social media team will focus on highlighting important issues that need attention. They plan to showcase the government’s work, such as implementing guarantees and waiving farm loans for many farmers. At the same time, they will fight back against the opposition, especially the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and correct any misinformation.

Party insiders say that the social media team was very active when Congress was in opposition. Their efforts helped the party win power in the state. However, in recent months, the team’s activity has slowed down. This is partly because some of the leaders who were responsible for social media have taken up roles in the government. Now, with a new Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief, the party is looking to fix these gaps.

One spokesperson mentioned that the social media team played a major role during the Assembly and Parliamentary elections. But after some leaders got government positions, the team’s effectiveness dropped. With the new PCC chief, the party plans to revamp the social media strategy. They want to focus on both urban and rural audiences while fighting against the BRS.

During the Assembly elections, the strategy of grouping the BRS and BJP together worked well for Congress. The party also tried to show that the BJP was using religion to gain political support. After winning the Assembly elections, the social media team continued holding review meetings, but these stopped after the Lok Sabha elections. Now, the party feels it’s time to go on the offensive again, and social media will play a key role in this strategy.
