Alka Lamba Urges Government to Implement Women's Reservation

Hyderabad: All India Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba has called on the Union government to quickly enforce women’s reservations. She also emphasized the need for better safety measures for women.

Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Alka Lamba shared that around five lakh people across the country have registered online for the Women’s Congress. Out of these, more than one lakh registrations are from Telangana. She expressed happiness that Telangana is leading in membership, with 1.04 lakh women joining the Telangana Women’s Congress.

She praised the efforts of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, and Women Congress President Sunita Rao in achieving these membership targets. Lamba highlighted the role of women in bringing the Congress party to power in Telangana. She also noted that, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, gas cylinders are available for Rs 500 in the state. Additionally, three promises made to women have already been fulfilled, and the fourth will be implemented soon.
