IT raids on the residences of P. Sabitha Indra Reddy’s close associates and relatives have caused political tension. The ruling party leaders claim that their opponents are conducting these raids during the election period to defame BRS candidates.
The IT department conducted raids on the associates of a pharma company’s management for suspicious cash transactions. K. Narender Reddy of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories was targeted for allegedly making cash deposits in multiple accounts. The I-T officials are investigating his connections to political leaders.
The residence and office of prominent realtor Pradeep Reddy and a close relative of the minister were also raided. The raids took place in several locations including Nagulapally, Ramachandrapuram, Patelgua, Gachibowli, and Miyapur. Pradeep Reddy’s income-tax returns and call data were examined, and his bank accounts were seized.
The IT officials are currently examining the IT returns of pharmaceutical companies and real estate groups to determine if there is any involvement in money laundering.
