The Telangana High Court recently made a decision regarding a legal challenge in the Kothagudem Assembly constituency. Justice Kunuru Lakshman dismissed a case brought by Nandulal Agarwal, a voter and social worker, who questioned the election of Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao from the CPI party. Rao had secured victory with a margin of 80,336 votes.
Agarwal argued that Mendu Rajamallu, an advocate who notarized Rao’s affidavit in Form 26, was not qualified on the date of notarization, November 8, 2023. Rajamallu had applied for a license renewal later, which was approved. The judge found this argument unconvincing.
Additionally, Agarwal claimed that Rao did not include his wife’s name in the necessary form. However, Rao provided his wife’s details using her Pan card, which the court accepted.
