In Hyderabad, senior Congress lawmakers are upset about being left out of the cabinet. The state leadership is actively trying to calm them down.
Supporters of Bodhan MLA and former Minister P Sudharshan Reddy are so unhappy that they are threatening a Bodhan bandh. To address the issue, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and cabinet member Ponnam Prabhakar visited Mancherial MLA K Prem Sagar Rao to ease tensions. Additionally, Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu met with Ibrahimpatnam MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy, who had considered leaving the party. Meanwhile, Munugode MLA Rajgopal Reddy, brother of Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, spoke with AICC general secretary K C Venugopal. Rajagopal Reddy is upset because Vivek Venkatswamy, a former BJP member, got a cabinet position, while he did not, despite promises made when he joined the party.
The leadership is trying to address these grievances by explaining the need to balance social and caste factors. Some legislators have been reassured by the possibility of future opportunities, as there are still three cabinet positions open. Supporters of Sudharshan Reddy are vocal about his seniority and the lack of representation from the old Nizamabad district in the cabinet.
Lawmakers have written to PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, threatening to resign if their leader is ignored. They warn that Congress could suffer in the upcoming local elections in Bodhan and Nizamabad if Sudharshan Reddy is not included in the cabinet. The dissatisfied MLAs, Sudharshan Reddy, Prem Sagar Rao, Malreddy Ranga Reddy, and Rajagopal Reddy, are reportedly in touch with each other.
