CPM cadres protested at the Ambedkar Statue in Hanumakonda on Saturday. They accused the BJP-led NDA Government of undermining democracy. The CPM district secretary, Botla Chakrapani, led the protest and criticized the BJP for using agencies like the ED, CBI, and IT against opposition leaders.

Chakrapani mentioned the recent arrests of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and MLC K Kavitha by the ED as tactics to gain political advantage during the Lok Sabha elections. He also alleged that the BJP had collected Rs 6,500 crore from contractors through electoral bonds. Chakrapani claimed that the ED did not object to the bail petition of P Sarath Chandra Reddy, Aurobindo Pharma Limited, despite acquiring electoral bonds worth Rs 40 crore.
