CSIR-CCMB to open its doors to the public starting today

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad will be open to the public for a week as part of the ‘One Week, One Lab’ initiative. Dr N Kalaiselvi, the director general of CSIR and secretary of DSIR, will inaugurate the event. The CCMB aims to showcase its research and technology development during this initiative. They also hope to collaborate with industries for deployment and commercialization, identify potential industries for co-development, and inspire young entrepreneurs to create startups.

Several events are scheduled for the week, including a workshop with high school teachers to promote educational kits developed by CCMB. The genetic research facility will also distribute improved rice varieties to farmers. College students will have the opportunity to interact with senior scientists from CCMB, and there will be a consultative meeting on invasive species attended by forest and government officials.
