CV Anand leads court session, questions 101 gang members

Hyderabad: On Wednesday, CV Anand, the city police commissioner and Additional District Magistrate of Hyderabad, held a special court session at the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate. This meeting focused on resolving conflicts among various criminal groups in the South, South East, and South West areas of the city.

During the session, 101 members from 11 different gangs associated with 10 police stations were questioned. Six of these gangs reported settling their disputes peacefully with the help of their elders and families. The other gangs assured they had not engaged in criminal activities and pledged to keep the peace moving forward. CV Anand examined police reports which highlighted involvement of these gangs in crimes like mutual assaults, murders, and attempted murders.

CV Anand cautioned that legal actions would be enforced against anyone disrupting peace in Hyderabad. He also mentioned that individuals who might cause disturbances would be required to sign a peace bond under Section 126 of the BNSS, 2023. The court session was adjourned for a future date. K Apoorva Rao, DCP, Special Branch, and officers from the involved police stations attended the meeting.
