Santhana Selvan, the bicycle mayor of Hyderabad, praised the initiative, calling it a “cycling revolution” that has the potential to bring about significant social, environmental, and economic changes. “We’ve received an overwhelming response from the cycling community. This campaign can transform cycling from a passion into a lifestyle,” he said.

Selvan emphasized the importance of incorporating cycling into daily life. He suggested that using bicycles for even two out of ten weekly trips could make a meaningful difference. For longer distances, he recommended public transportation as an eco-friendly alternative. He added, “This initiative promotes not just fitness but also addresses environmental concerns like pollution.”

With the participation of thousands of individuals and cycling groups, the campaign is expected to make a lasting impact nationwide. It highlights the power of collective action in shaping a healthier and more sustainable future.
