Hyderabad: Health Minister C Damodar Raja Narsimha gave some important advice to the graduating doctors of Osmania General Hospital. He told them, “Everyone wants to live a good life, but don’t hurt others or take away their dreams to achieve yours. Don’t take advantage of the common people.”
The Minister was speaking at the 174th Convocation Ceremony of Osmania Medical College. He encouraged the new doctors to focus on serving people and to keep the spirit of service alive in their profession.
He reminded the graduates of a popular saying, “Vaidyo Narayana Hari,” which means that a doctor is like God. He said that during their internships, they might have already felt the joy of helping and saving lives. He urged them to continue with the same passion and also take care of their own health.
Raja Narsimha said this day would be a memorable and joyful one for the new doctors. He congratulated them and also thanked their parents and professors at Osmania for their support and guidance during their medical journey.
He praised Osmania College and Hospital, calling them world-famous institutions that bring hope to millions of patients. He said the students were lucky to have studied there. Many past students are now leading top hospitals around the world, and he encouraged the new graduates to aim high as well.
The Minister reminded the doctors that their profession is special because they have the power to save lives and ease suffering. He urged them to always support the poor and stay committed to their duty.
He also shared some good news about future developments. The Congress government is giving special importance to education and healthcare. A new Osmania Hospital is being built in Goshamahal with a budget of ₹2,700 crore. In addition, a modern hostel for Osmania and Gandhi medical students is being built at a cost of ₹210 crore.
