DCM Truck Drags Scooty for 5 Kilometers in Madhapur, Woman Dies

A tragic road accident occurred in Madhapur late on Saturday night when a DCM truck hit a scooty and dragged it for nearly 5 kilometers. The incident claimed the life of a 22-year-old woman identified as Ayesha, who was traveling with Abdul Basith on the two-wheeler. The horrific accident took place around midnight, leaving residents shocked at the severity of the incident.

According to reports, the couple was traveling on their scooty when the DCM truck struck them from behind. Instead of stopping, the truck continued moving with the scooty stuck underneath, dragging the vehicle and the injured couple for approximately 5 kilometers. Alert youth in the area noticed the unusual situation and managed to stop the truck near KBR Park in Jubilee Hills at around 12 am. The concerned citizens immediately alerted the authorities and handed over the cleaner of the truck to the police.

The driver of the DCM truck fled from the scene immediately after the vehicle was stopped, leaving the cleaner behind. Local residents who witnessed the aftermath of the accident quickly rushed to help the injured couple. Both Ayesha and Abdul Basith sustained severe injuries in the incident and were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital by the locals for emergency medical treatment.

Despite receiving medical attention, Ayesha succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital. Abdul Basith continues to receive medical care for his injuries. The incident has raised serious concerns about road safety and the negligence of heavy vehicle drivers in the city. The police have registered a case based on the complaint and have launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter.

The Madhapur police are actively searching for the absconding truck driver and are examining CCTV footage from the route to piece together the sequence of events. Authorities have taken the cleaner into custody for questioning to gather more information about the driver and the circumstances leading to the accident. The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to ensure justice for the victim and her family.
