A comprehensive traffic trial run was conducted around KBR National Park in Hyderabad on April 5, 2026, in preparation for the ongoing flyover and underpass construction works in the area. The trial run, which took place from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM, aimed to assess traffic flow patterns and implement necessary diversions to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the construction period. Senior police officials from the Hyderabad City Police personally supervised the exercise on the ground to evaluate real-time traffic conditions and challenges.
Sri Sajjanar VC, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, along with Sri D. Joel Davis, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), and Sri Kajal Singh, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic-II, led the supervision of the trial run. The senior officials were accompanied by other officers from the Hyderabad City Police who monitored traffic movement at various points around the KBR Park area. During the exercise, the officials issued necessary instructions to subordinate staff and traffic personnel deployed at key junctions to ensure the effective implementation of traffic management measures.
The trial run focused on identifying potential bottlenecks and testing various traffic diversion routes that will be implemented during the construction phase. Traffic police personnel stationed at different points recorded observations regarding vehicular density, pedestrian movement, and compliance with temporary traffic arrangements. The exercise also helped authorities fine-tune their strategies for managing rush hour traffic and minimizing inconvenience to daily commuters who regularly use routes around KBR National Park. Special attention was given to coordinating with traffic units in nearby jurisdictions to ensure seamless traffic flow.
The Hyderabad City Police has requested citizens to cooperate with traffic police and strictly follow the designated diversions for their own safety and convenience. Commuters traveling through the KBR Park vicinity are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra time for their commute during the construction period. The traffic police have assured that adequate signage and personnel will be deployed at all major junctions to guide motorists through the diverted routes and prevent confusion during peak hours.
