Telangana Director General of Police CV Anand chaired the Young India Police School Society Committee Meeting today to assess the institution’s academic progress, infrastructure development, and future plans. The meeting highlighted significant growth as the school enters its second academic year, with student enrollment increasing from 345 to 360 students. Classes at the school now extend up to Grade VI, marking an important milestone in the institution’s expansion.
A notable development shared during the meeting was that nearly half of the students, approximately 176 students, come from non-police families. The DGP described this as a clear reflection of growing public trust in YIPS. This diversification in student enrollment demonstrates that the school is successfully reaching beyond the police community and establishing itself as a credible educational institution in the state.
During the meeting, CV Anand directed officials to expedite the construction of a new 17 classroom academic block within the stipulated timeline. He emphasized his vision for YIPS to grow into one of the finest institutions in the country, one that nurtures discipline, leadership, moral values, innovation, and social responsibility. The DGP stated that quality education backed by world class infrastructure and a safe environment is non negotiable for the institution’s development.
The Telangana Police chief also emphasized the crucial role of sports in building physical fitness, mental well-being, and character among students. He highlighted that sports activities play an important part in keeping children away from social evils like drug abuse. This focus on holistic development reflects the school’s commitment to creating well-rounded individuals who are physically fit and mentally strong.
To strengthen governance and ensure sustained progress, CV Anand approved the formation of key committees including Procurement, Academic, Infrastructure, and Coordination committees. These committees will oversee various aspects of the school’s operations and development, ensuring systematic growth and maintaining high standards across all areas of the institution.
