CPI national executive member Chada Venkat Reddy is requesting the State Government to extend the deadline for submitting applications for the Gruha Lakshmi scheme. This scheme provides Rs 3 lakh in financial assistance to individuals who own their own land and want to build houses. Reddy, along with party State secretariat member Takkalapally Srinivas Rao, visited RN Nagar and ARR Nagar in Kazipet to gather information about the basic amenities needed for residents who have applied for pattas under GO 58 and 59.

Reddy believes that the government is rushing to close the window for the Gruha Lakshmi scheme too quickly. He explains that applicants need more time, at least one week, to obtain caste and income certificates from authorities. Therefore, Reddy is urging the government to extend the deadline for submitting applications by two weeks. He also demands that land pattas be issued to all applicants under GO 58 and 59, and that all necessary amenities be provided to their colonies.

Additionally, Reddy suggests that beneficiaries of BC Bandhu and Minority Bandhu should be selected through Grama Sabhas rather than through the intervention of MLAs. Several other CPI members were present during this visit, including CPI Hanumakonda district secretary Karre Bikshapathi and joint secretary Maddela Yellesh.
