Hyderabad: Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, D Sridhar Babu, has announced that special industrial parks for women will be set up in every Assembly constituency. These parks will especially focus on supporting women in rural areas.
He shared this news while launching the brochure for the upcoming “Food A Fair” event, which will take place from June 12 to 14 at HITEX. The event is being organised by the State Government in partnership with HITEX Exhibitions and the Telangana Food Processing Society.
The Minister said the exhibition will bring together food producers, experts from the processing and packaging industries, and chefs. They will come together to share ideas and discuss developments in the food industry.
Talking about Telangana’s progress, he said the state is already a leader in IT and pharmaceuticals. Now, it wants to become a top player in agriculture and food-related industries as well.
He also pointed out that Telangana is a great place for setting up food processing businesses. So far, over ₹16,000 crore has been invested in this sector, with many projects currently in progress.
The Minister added that the state already has 14 dedicated food processing zones, covering 7,150 acres. In the future, the focus will be on expanding these facilities in smaller cities and towns.
He also mentioned that over 6,800 small food processing units are already working in the state. The government plans to keep supporting new and upcoming entrepreneurs in this field with financial help.
