Senior BJP leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has asked the Chief Minister of Hyderabad, K Chandrashekar Rao, to publish a whitepaper about the newly created ayacut under the Kaleshwaram project. Mr. Reddy made the request during a press conference. He stated that the government’s Pragati Nivedika report claimed to have spent Rs 1,55,210.86 lakh crore on irrigation projects and provided water to 17.23 lakh acres. However, he argued that this contradicts the report’s claim that it provided water to a new ayacut of 18.25 lakh acres from the Kaleshswaram project alone. He also noted that the report claimed to have stabilized an ayacut of 18.82 lakh acres, which he found questionable.
