On the occasion of Karthika Somavara, Shiva temples in the area saw a huge number of devotees. From early morning, thousands of pilgrims began lining up to seek blessings from Lord Mahadeva and take part in the special rituals of the day.

Women, in particular, observed the day by performing punyasnanams (holy baths) and lighting Karthika deepams (oil lamps) at the temples. Many devotees also participated in special abhishekas (ritual baths) and prayers for Lord Shiva, as they lit lamps, a tradition that holds deep spiritual meaning during the Karthika month.

The atmosphere in the temples was filled with the sound of “Shiva Namam” (chanting Lord Shiva’s name). The temples were beautifully decorated with lights, drawing large crowds of worshippers eager to gain the spiritual benefits of this sacred day.
