The displaced residents of Mallannasagar have asked senior BRS leader, T Harish Rao, to visit their Pallepahad colony and talk to them. They are upset and accuse him of lying when he promised to take care of them like his own family. Villagers from all areas affected by the Mallannasagar project gathered to protest. In their anger, they burnt a flex banner of Rao. Congress leaders showed their support for the protestors.

During the protest, the people said that Rao had misled them by making false promises of justice. They believe he worked with local leaders, brokers, and officials to pocket money from the resettlement process. They also claimed that the compensation packages were incomplete. For instance, single women and those without family support were not given homes or financial help, leading to many difficulties for them.

The protestors demanded that Rao, who they say has been holding secret press meetings to praise himself, should come to their new villages and listen to their problems. They were especially angry about a statement made by former Chief Minister KCR, who claimed that Rs 50,000 was given to each household for road expenses. The protestors questioned where the money actually went, as they did not receive it.

They accused Rao, along with officials and brokers, of making money under the pretense of resettling them, while leaving the displaced people to suffer.
