In Palakurthi, a heated dispute erupted over the installation of the Telangana Thalli statue. Both the BRS and Congress members are determined to set up their preferred versions of the statue.

Recently, the Revanth Reddy Government introduced a newly designed Telangana Thalli statue, replacing the one created by the BRS. Despite strong objections from BRS supporters, the Congress went ahead and positioned their new statue, removing the old Telugu Thalli statue.

The situation intensified when Congress members discarded the old statue in nearby thorny bushes, further aggravating the controversy.

Errabelli Usha Dayakar Rao, the wife of former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, led a rally to the police station on Sunday. She represents the Palakurthi constituency and was upset about losing the 2023 election. However, police halted the BRS rally and attempted to disperse the protesters.

Angered by these events, Usha Dayakar Rao criticized the police for prioritizing Jhansi Reddy, the mother-in-law of local MLA Yashaswini Reddy. She questioned why someone without Indian citizenship received such attention. Usha Dayakar Rao demanded to know why she couldn’t file a complaint regarding the Congress attacks on BRS members.

She accused the police of making illegal arrests and attacking BRS workers. She warned that once back in power, they would address and rectify these wrongdoings.
