The district Collector Valluri Kranti has started the “I Vote for Sure” campaign by flagging off a 5k run from the IDOC to Krishna Veni Chouk. This run aims to create awareness among citizens in the district. As per the orders of the election commission, voter enrollment centres will be set up in the district. Citizens above a certain age should enroll their names online and make corrections to their voter cards through these centres.
The district Collector emphasized that every Indian citizen must utilize their Right to vote, which is given by the Indian constitution, in order to have better governance. Voting is the foundation of Indian democracy, and everyone should vote without any obligations. She urged new voters to check the voter list to see if their names are present.
The additional collector Apoorva Chauhan mentioned that the “I Vote for Sure” campaign can help raise awareness about the Right to vote.
