District Judge MR Sunitha calls for an end to child marriages

Awareness Seminar on Laws Held in Wanaparthy

Marrying girls at a young age can lead to physical and mental health problems, said District Chief Judge MR Sunitha. She spoke at an awareness seminar on laws for handloom workers at Amarachinta Mandal Center in Wanaparthy district on Tuesday. The event was organized by the District Legal Services Authority.

As the chief guest, Judge Sunitha emphasized the importance of joint families. She advised that husbands and wives should not separate over minor disagreements, as family unity brings happiness.

The seminar covered several important laws, including the Child Marriage Act, Child Labor Act, Motor Vehicle Act, and Cyber Crimes. District Secretary of the Legal Services Authority, V Rajani, explained how the organization conducts meetings to educate the public and students about legal matters.

Rajani also informed attendees that they can call the toll-free number 15100 for legal advice. Other participants in the program included Senior Civil Judge K Kavitha, Junior Civil Judge Y Janaki, and Rural Development Organization President Chinnamma Thomas.
