    The Health department in Hyderabad has cancelled holidays for the medical staff working under the Direct of Public Health. They have set up a 24×7 State-level command control centre to provide continuous medical services to the public. The department is on high alert due to the incessant rain and has been asked to take measures to protect public health.

    Health Minister T Harish Rao has been monitoring the situation in districts and ensuring that medical staff are fully available to provide uninterrupted medical services, especially for pregnant women. Pregnant women whose delivery date is nearing have been shifted to hospitals, with 327 people being safely moved to birth waiting rooms from July 20 to 26, and 176 people being moved since then.

    The government is providing food and accommodation to both patients and attendants. From sub-centre level to main hospitals in Hyderabad, the medical staff is fully prepared and arrangements have been made to avoid any hardships. Emergency medical services are available at district, area, CHC, and MCH hospitals.

    In the agency areas, emergency medical services are also being provided. The Health department is working in coordination with other departments to ensure that people do not face any inconvenience. Officials have been asked to cancel sanctioned leaves and resume duty to provide continuous medical services.
