Nagarkurnool is set to benefit from enhanced development efforts. Dr Mallu Ravi, an MP and the Chairman of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), emphasized the need for effective implementation of all welfare schemes from both the Central and State governments. He highlighted the importance of education, healthcare, and employment in improving the lives of the poor.
On Tuesday, Dr Ravi led a DISHA meeting in Nagarkurnool with key attendees such as District Collector Badavath Santosh and MLAs Dr Rajesh Reddy and Dr Vamshi Krishna. Dr Ravi urged that government initiatives should align with broader development goals. He asked officials to keep a close watch on Central schemes and report any issues to him or local MLAs. Collaboration between public representatives and officials is crucial for making Nagarkurnool a leading district in development and welfare.
Dr Ravi called on banks to support small entrepreneurs by providing loans across all sectors. He stressed the importance of crop loans and achieving priority sector lending targets. He also asked National Highway officials to draft proposals for expanding highways and building inter-state bridges, like the Maddimadugu–Macharam bridge. Special attention was requested for utilizing SC Corporation funds, with loan grounding from 2017 to 2025 needing completion.
In education, Dr Ravi stressed that quality education should be a fundamental right. He urged the expansion of schools and colleges, improvement in teacher training, and modernization of education policies, aiming for Telangana’s education sector to lead nationally.
In healthcare, enhancements have been made at the district medical college, with advanced training and services now available. Efforts are continuing to ensure quality medical care reaches tribal and rural areas. Dr Ravi also instructed officials to achieve full student enrolment in welfare hostels and gurukuls, and to propose solutions for any additional needs.
