Dundigal to house Waste to Energy plant in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: IT and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao has announced that the Telangana Government is focused on creating Wealth out of Waste (WoW). In addition to the 20MW plant at Jawahar Nagar, another Waste to Energy plant built by GHMC at Dundigal is ready to go live. This new plant has a capacity of 14.5 MW and will consume RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) of 800 Tonnes per day, which is equivalent to 1500 TPD/day of garbage. With this, Hyderabad will produce 34.5 MW of energy from waste. The goal is to achieve a total of 101 MW from waste by December 2024.
