The Congress party has announced a ‘campaign committee’ for Telangana ahead of the assembly elections in the state. The committee will be chaired by former MP Madhu Yashki Goud. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the proposal for the committee’s formation.
The campaign committee will also include former MP Ponguletu Srinivasa Reddy as co-Chairman and Syed Azmathullah Husseini as its convenor. In addition, the party has named a 37-member executive committee.
To oversee the election preparations for the upcoming Telangana Assembly polls, AICC Lok Sabha observers have been appointed by Kharge.
The Congress party is aiming to make a comeback in Telangana and has already started its poll campaign in the state. Former party chief Rahul Gandhi addressed a large public meeting in Khammam on July 2.
