The senior vice-president of TPCC, G Niranjan, has denied allegations made by BJP MLA Eatala Rajender that TRS gave Rs 25 crore to Congress in the Munugodu by-election. Niranjan said that the allegation is false and baseless and that it is part of a strategy devised by BJP national leadership to curb the growing popularity of Congress.
Niranjan spoke to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad and said that the BJP leadership is embarking on a false campaign out of frustration at the failure of its national leaders to gain traction at the field level. He added that the BJP leadership frequently insists on State leaders to focus on joinings from other parties, which reflects the ground reality of its strength in the State and its bankruptcy.
Niranjan challenged Rajender to provide evidence for his allegation and to reveal where and to whom TRS gave Rs 25 crore. He said that BJP has a habit of false campaigning since its inception and people are aware of it. All these days, Rajender was considered to be a committed, trustworthy, and honest person by the people.
