Hyderabad: Malkajigiri Member of Parliament, Etala Rajender, has voiced his support for extending the Hyderabad Metro Rail to the areas of Medchal and Shamirpet.
He made this statement during a protest (dharna) held in Suchitra on Sunday. The event was organized by the Medchal Metro Sadhana Samithi, a group that has been advocating for the expansion of the metro rail line. Rajender emphasized the importance of extending the metro rail from Jubilee Bus Station to Suchitra, Kompally, Medchal, and Shamirpet.
According to Rajender, these areas are highly developed and well-connected to the national highways surrounding Hyderabad. He assured that he would take responsibility for securing cooperation from the Central government to make the metro extension to Medchal and Shamirpet a reality. He urged the State government to quickly address the commuting needs of people living in these regions.
Rajender also pointed out that a large number of IT employees live in these areas, which further supports the need for the metro rail extension. Members of the Medchal Metro Sadhana Samithi, including Sampath Reddy, BJP district in-charge president Dr. S. Mallareddy, and district general secretary Girivardhan Reddy, were present at the event.
