The Election Commission reprimanded K Chandrasekhar Rao of Bharat Rashtra Samithi and banned him from campaigning for 48 hours for his remarks against the Congress. The EC found his comments made on April 5 in Sircilla to be in violation of the model code of conduct.

KCR used derogatory language towards the Congress, calling them names like “lathkhors” and accusing them of lying to win votes. He also made threatening remarks about biting throats if a bonus was not given. These comments were deemed objectionable by the EC.
