ECI Extends Telangana SIR Schedule; Final Electoral Roll to Be Published on October 12

Hyderabad: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana. As per an official communication dated July 15, 2026, the Commission has extended key deadlines, giving election officials and voters additional time to complete the revision process.

The revised schedule has been communicated to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Telangana, following a request from the state election authorities.

According to the updated programme, house-to-house verification by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will continue until August 3, 2026. The rationalisation and re-arrangement of polling stations will also be completed on the same day.

The draft electoral roll will now be published on August 10, 2026. Citizens will be able to file claims and objections from August 10 to September 9, 2026.

The Election Commission has scheduled the disposal of claims and objections between August 10 and October 8, 2026. After completing the verification process, the final electoral roll will be published on October 12, 2026.

More Time for Voters

The revised timeline provides additional time for voters whose names are missing from the electoral roll or who need to submit supporting documents during the SIR process. It also gives election officials more time to complete door-to-door verification and process applications received during the revision exercise.

The Election Commission has directed all concerned officials to widely publicise the revised schedule through various media platforms and also inform recognised political parties about the changes.

Citizens are advised to complete their enumeration process and cooperate with Booth Level Officers during the ongoing verification to ensure their names are included in the final electoral roll.
