CV Anand IPS, Director General of Police, Telangana, conducted two crucial meetings to assess the progress of establishing the Traffic Management and Road Safety Bureau (TMARS) and the Telangana Anti Drug and Safety Committees (TADASC) across educational institutions in the state. The initiatives, which have been under development for the past couple of months, are now approaching completion. Both programs aim to address critical concerns related to road safety and drug abuse prevention in Telangana.

The proposed TMARS is designed to standardize traffic management practices throughout Telangana while enhancing road safety measures. The bureau will focus on highway patrolling, maintenance of existing traffic signals, installation of new traffic signals, and improvement of road signages and infrastructure. This comprehensive approach seeks to create uniform traffic management protocols across all districts of the state, ensuring better coordination and implementation of safety measures on roads.

The TADASC initiative will extend the anti-narcotics drive into all educational institutions across Telangana. Under this program, educational institutions will be held responsible for identifying and reporting any suspicious behavior among students to law enforcement authorities. Students will be required to submit affidavits regarding drugs, and educational institutions will face liability for failing to implement these measures. Each institution will appoint campus safety coordinators who will work closely with students and authorities on various issues including drug prevention, ragging, acts against the dignity of girl students, and traffic awareness.

Emphasizing the urgency of these measures, CV Anand stated that protecting the next generation from drug abuse is essential to winning the war against narcotics. The comprehensive approach through TADASC aims to create a safe environment in educational campuses while ensuring active participation from institutions in maintaining student safety and well-being. The implementation of both TMARS and TADASC represents a significant step toward addressing road safety and substance abuse challenges in Telangana.
