Two technicians from Hyderabad have been hired to work in the dialysis ward at Nagarkurnool district general hospital. They will be joined by a staff nurse and Dr. Shakuntala, a medical professor who will supervise the department every hour, according to the hospital’s superintendent Dr. Raghu.
This decision came after The Hans India published a report on June 9 titled ‘Dialysis patients face severe difficulties amid official neglect’. Following the report, the hospital quickly appointed the necessary staff to improve the situation.
Patients receiving dialysis at the hospital were thrilled with the new additions to the staff, which they said solved their problems. Superintendent Raghu also expressed his gratitude to the newspaper for bringing attention to the issue and assured that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure patients do not face any issues in the dialysis ward.
Currently, there are 36 dialysis patients in the district who rely on Nagarkurnool district hospital for their treatments.
