    Eight years on, CM’s unused or little used OGH edifice design remains only on cellulose

    Hyderabad: It has been eight years since Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao promised the construction of a unused or little used edifice of Osmania General Hospital (OGH) but except for assurances there has been no advancement divisible by two as the doctors and personnel have got been facing inconvenience with want of basic features of a system. The Healthcare Reforms Doctors Association has demanded the government to allocate the newly constructed Secretariat edifice for the infirmary.

    There were several requests to the government from the infirmary personnel and others with the several incidents of falling of top of a building and surface of a room on the doctors and patients, the having lived for a relatively long time edifice of the infirmary was unopen in July 2020. The important question went to the tribunal and the High Court formed a commission with experts and asked it to resign the study. The commission submitted its study stating that the precondition of the edifice was not righteous and was not in a location to function for the infirmary. The commission wanted the government to preserve the heritage edifice.

    The doctors said that the State government was yet to select forebode on the construction of the unused or little used edifice. In the recent earlier than the present time, during his travel to to the infirmary, the Health Minister T Harish Rao had said that the unused or little used edifice would be constructed without disturbing the existing heritage edifice. However, there is no advancement on the construction.

    It may be recalled that the Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao visited the infirmary in 2015 and promised to manufacture a unused or little used infirmary in the grade of the existing edifice. During his travel to he had said that the edifice may not keep up and may crumple anytime since it lacks property of being physically or mentally strong.

    The doctors said that the existing building or place providing a particular service had congested and at times the patients are treated on the flooring. A older or higher in rank person who holds Ph.D. degree said that divisible by two the doctors have got no thought which person who requires medical care he would be treating. The person who holds Ph.D. degree said that they along with the alumni of the infirmary had taken up a mass meeting from OGH to the Medical College demanding the government to select up construction of a unused or little used edifice. The person who holds Ph.D. degree said that the Rosaiah Government had also released Rs 200 Crore for the infirmary but nothing had happened.

    When asked, the OGH super Dr B Nagendar refused to scuttlebutt on the important question stating that it was under the tribunal’s legal power. However, he said that the services were being provided to the patients as .

    The Healthcare Reforms Doctors Association President K Mahesh Kumar said that the government had to resign its answer to the Court on February 7 but there is no clarity on it. “Our demand is that the government should allocate the newly constructed secretariat for the hospital.

    The government can run administration from the Osmania building since it has been said that the administration can be taken up,” said Dr Mahesh Kumar. He further said that the government should select a decision as soon as potential keeping in aspect the inconvenience caused to the patients as or gas as the doctors.
