A former police constable from Prakasam district successfully passed the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam after resigning from his job due to humiliation. Uday Krishna Reddy secured the 780th rank in the 2023 UPSC Civil Services Examination results announced on April 16, 2024.

He worked as a police constable in the Andhra Pradesh police department from 2013 to 2018. Reddy decided to quit his job after facing humiliation from the Circle Inspector, who reportedly had a personal grudge against him. This incident inspired Reddy to pursue a career as an IAS officer.

While Reddy may start in the Indian Revenue Service, he plans to continue studying until he qualifies for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
