Farmers in Siddipet held a protest at the Collectorate on Wednesday. The protest was organized by the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, a farmers’ organization.
The farmers are demanding a loan waiver of Rs two lakh for all farmers across the State, without any restrictions. They said the protest was held at the offices of Collectors and Tahsildars as part of a call given by the Sangh’s State Committee.
The protesters accused the ruling party of changing its stance on the loan waiver after the recent Assembly elections. They insisted that the loan waiver should be implemented as promised during the elections. During the protest, the farmers submitted a formal request to the officials at the Collectorate.
